The past couple of days have been spent on my sewing machine creating surfaces, paper and cloth as a base for hand embroidery.

The paper ones are much needed at the moment as I'm currently working on a few more of these.

Hand embroidery on these pieces is the next stage.

There will be lots of bullion and French knots along with buttonhole stitch edges and vintage fabric snippets.

Anzac morning dawned calm, clear and crisp.  I took myself out for a short walk.  The ranges are snow free today, but just a couple of days ago, they were covered in snow.  Sadly, I didn't get a photo then.

 I'm still working with pink, the Rainbow Scrap Challenge colour for April, so decided to make some more draw string bags for the foster kids.  Looking through my big bag of bag making bits and pieces, I found four pink contenders.

There was a black and grey fabric piece which I had pinned some bright pink for the top.  Piggies in pyjamas, and a pretty floral fat quarter I had tucked away which yielded two bags.  So I cut, and stitched, added the linings and the draw string tops, found some suitable cord, and they were all done.

paper and silk velvet..

 It seems to have been a long time since I had a RSC finish to share.  In fact, it is a "two for one deal" as it  also ticks the box for the Chookshed Challenge number 3 which was chosen for August.  These selvedge blocks were started in Rainbow Scrap Challenge during 2020 and each month I stitched one in the nominated colour.  I had decided to make these blocks for a tote bag, and also stitched a couple of handles, and sone extra selvedge strips in burgundy for the top of the bag.  Then it was put aside.

 Good Morning!  Finn and our daughter arrived last night for the holidays so the festivities can begin now!  I did a bit of cross stitch on my Christmas project.  The wreath is getting there!  I hope to have more time to work on this after Christmas Day!
